James Baxter's Singer brought down from Liverpool for the occasion outside the Brooklands Society tent in the Brooklands Paddock.

This 499 c.c. 1912 Singer, the first to use valve overlap, took the opposition, namely Rudge, by surprise at Brooklands and rewrote the record book. Belt drive, no clutch, geared to tick over at about 40 mph and entirely dependent on its saddle for suspension springing.
